Rod Hall Events is currently in the process of developing a new off-road event. The event would be held May 17th and 18th, 2014 at Norm Dianda’s Wild West Motorsports Park in Reno, Nevada using production 4 x 4 vehicles. We are envisioning vendors and competitions between the everyday off-roader and people who are in the industry such as Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF) inductees, journalists, racers both men and women.
Rod Hall Events would like to integrate corporate sponsors for this event; a vehicle manufacturer, tire company and other off-road industry providers.
We will be having several demonstrations as well as competitive precision driving throughout the day or days. Exercises developed by Rod Hall will be competitive to show the spectators how vehicles and tires work in different technical situations.
Rod Hall has been teaching on and off-road tire performance seminars for over three decades as well as doing training events for special forces and different auto manufacturers such as Dodge, Ford, GM, Hummer and Jeep.
Below are some of the events/timed exercises being considered:
• Off camber turns
• Teeter totter over barricade, timed event (2 teams at once)
• Winching contest, timed recovery, kinetic rope against snatch strap
• Hill climb with stop in middle with restart and a rock hill climb
• Slalom with ball drops
• Sand ladder event
